Watch what you fill yourself with.
You are a vessel.
What you put in matters.
That includes thoughts, words, interactions, food, music and so much more.
If something is weighing you down. If something isn't filling you up with goodness, it's time to reevaluate things. You get to decide who and what you invite on your island and into your world. Choose wisely.

Hold onto that calculator
Read that quote again, "If you want to improve your self worth, stop giving other people the calculator."
How often do we let others dictate what is good and just and right for us?
How often do we define ourselves by others'?
How often do we look at others' highlight reels on social media and wish our life were better?
Here's the thing, you get to decide what is of value to you. For me, it's quality time with people I love. It's being outside. It's quiet walks on the beach. It's good food and wine. It's live music and time to paint. For me, it's about the quality of my life.
It's not about my job title or house or the money in the bank. It's not about vacations and prestige. It's about being whole and at peace.
What does your calculator say?

Dance like no one is watching.
Ahhh, to dance.
To delight in the world.
To be joyful.
Isn't that what we all want in life.
Take time to observe the rhythm of life and the dance before you.

Stop the “should have”
I had a dear friend tell me to take "Should have" and "Could have" out of my vocabulary.
Think about it. When you start regretting things, you always say things like, "I should have..." or "I could have ..."
Here's the thing, yes, you could have. Maybe you should have.
But you didn't. And now you have a chance to move on and do something different.
So, today, this week, this month, I encourage you to take should have and could have out of your vocabulary . Re-frame things.
"I did the best I could with the information I had. I am proud of what I have done and I am committed to doing better."
You've got this.

Plot Twist!
Plot Twist!
I have a friend who yells that every time something changes her trajectory.
You know, when things go wrong.
Think about that for a minute. If we can shift our perspective each time something goes awry and think, "Plot Twist," then we can view things as adventures instead of problems.
It's all in the way you view things. You take off into the wind.

Be ready for an unexpected open door.
How many times have you looked longingly at something you lost?
How much time have you wasted ruminating over something?
I've often found that sometimes I am so focused on something I don't have that I miss the beautuy in front of me. Since my accident, I focus on the present. I focus on what is before me. I focus on all that is beautiful, wonderful, joyful and wonderful.
When you shift your focus, you begin to realize that your life is truly remarkable.

What are you afraid of?
Fear can be debilitating.
It can make us hold back. It can make us play it safe. It can rob us of what we truly want in life.
Today, take a moment to do something you are scared of. Do something, big or small, that pushes you to take a leap of faith.
You might be surprised at how easy it becomes once you take a small step and then another and then another.
