Fighting for Your Kids: ADHD, Pot, Suspensions and Car Crashes
Meg, a former collegiate swimmer, a physical therapist who specializes in cranial sacral work, which is so cool we cover it here, and a mother of two, laid it all on the line to save her son from personal destruction.
Sam had always been a difficult child. Colicky when he was a baby and easily distracted. He was diagnosed with ADHD and a slow processing speed. These factors became a problem in high school when he just couldn't keep up with class discussions and the rigor of extended attention. He turned to pot and Meg watched as his life spiraled out of control.
It took a third high school suspension for Sam to finally ask for help. Meg outlines their process to get him help and on the path to high school graduation.
She also talks about how lonely it was, the importance of having a tribe and the ways in which she coped through this difficult time.
