Dogs Do Smile

I know there are some out there who think dog owners are a little nutty. Our dogs are special. Our dogs are smart. Our dogs are adorable. Yadda Yadda Yadda. And for a long time, I kind of just shrugged at dog posts. I hadn’t had a special dog before and I didn’t quite get it. 

But now, now, I get it. I LOVE Jake. I mean love him. He’s all the things you want in a dog: sweet, loving, kind, cuddly, smart, friendly, etc. And, he absolutely smiles. He is filled with joy and I love that about him. 

They say your dog takes after you both in personality and looks. Maybe that’s true. Jake is outgoing, friendly and has never met a stranger. He will walk up to anyone and wants to be friends. He gets overly excited with dog friends. He sometimes can’t contain his enthusiasm, jumping four feet straight up into the air. And that smile; it lights up a room. 

If you know me, the description above personifies me. I’m so glad Jake takes after me because he brings me so much joy. Of course, I find joy in the simplest things and in every aspect of my life.
